P-TACC in Action

On June 13, 2013, we got our Bill introduced to the New York State Legislature by Assemblyman Al Graf  with 24 Co-sponsors:  BILL NO A07994 - AN  ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the common core state standards initiative and the race to the top program

On May 31st, 2013, Long Island members of P-TACC dropped in on NY State Senator Flanagan's offices to let him know where we stand. Flanagan is Chair of the NY Senate Standing Committee on Education. He hasn't met with us yet, but we will continue to reach out to him.

On May 22nd, 2013, Long Island members of
P-TACC picketed outside a breakfast meeting of the Long Island Association where New York State Education Commissioner Dr. John B. King Jr. was to be speaking. P-TACC members were able to get in to hear Dr. King speak and questioned him directly about our issues. Unfortunately, he could not/would not answer our questions.
